Big Bear Plastic Products Ltd Announce New Managing Director

As part of strategic succession planning, Big Bear is pleased to announce that Emma Hockley, the daughter of the company’s owner, Gerald Bloom, has been appointed to the position of Managing Director.
Emma has been with Big Bear for over 5 years, during which time she has led the Commercial Team, focusing on securing both new business and driving customer service. She’s also worked closely with all our other key operational functions, including Engineering, Production, Purchasing and Finance. Prior to Big Bear she headed up Buying, and subsequently Marketing, for Perfumery & Cosmetics at Harrods.
Gerald Bloom, Owner of Big Bear, said “Having grown-up with the Plastics industry close to her home and heart both I, and the Senior Management team, have complete faith in her abilities and her experience. Emma is passionate about looking after our customers, delivering high quality products on time, and most importantly, she cares deeply about our people. I am confident that she will continue to nurture our family’s vision for Big Bear and ensure that the Company continues to thrive.
Additionally, Mark Lingwood is appointed to the position of Operations Director. Mark has been an integral part of the Company for many years and this role will allow him to focus on driving productivity and efficiency through the factory.
Richard Swann is appointed to the position of Head of Finance. Rich has worked tirelessly over the last few months to guide the company through the pandemic.
It has certainly been a challenging year, but as ever, our industry seems to continue to find ways to adapt. Big Bear has been working hard throughout the pandemic with a streamlined team in place to maintain the supply of parts to those customers who needed them, and to support those who unfortunately had to put production on hold. During this period we have also supplied the NHS and other specialized services with essential products.
This new team, led by Emma, will provide both longevity and strategic certainty to our business.
